About Our Furniture

Rattan

The rattan grows in the jungles of Borneo and Sulawesi, and reinforces the need to keep virgin forests intact for the gathering of natural products.

Seagrass

This is a a grass that grows in the wild coastal swamps.

Water hyacinth

The Water Hyacynth is a vine that grows in lakes and rivers. The top image is the V weave, and Nubbys' below.

Banana

This is made from the trunk of the banana plant. The banana stalk is peeled, cut into thin strips, and twisted together into strings, as are the sea grasses and water hyacinths. Being braided into ropes that then cover the wooden or rattan frame create a strong, viable, and natural piece of furniture for use indoors and out.
